Provincial criteria differ
There is no single national PNP eligibility test. A profile that is not competitive in one province may fit another stream, while some streams require a local job offer, work experience, education, licensing, family connection or prior study.
Express Entry versus non-Express Entry
Some provincial nominations are linked to Express Entry and require eligibility under a federal Express Entry program. Other nominations proceed through the non-Express Entry permanent residence process.
Intake rules can change quickly
PNP streams may open, pause, use expression-of-interest systems or target specific occupations. Current provincial instructions should always be checked before relying on an older program description.
